Losing our confidence is a helpful and important thing to do.
But, if you have suffered from a persistent confidence problem, you won't agree with me on this.
The Right Time To Lose Confidence
The right time to lose confidence is when we are close to making a decision.
We need to stop and say "am I sure?".
It is essential to doubt at this point.
It is a safety mechanism.
If everything is okay, we regain our confidence and sign on the dotted line.
If not, we need to think again or say "no".
The process of losing confidence is designed to help us
MAKE BETTER DECISIONS.
The Wrong Way
The telltale signs that the process has gone wrong are
- You know you can be successful, but stop yourself from acting
- You have it in some situations, but in similar ones, it vanishes
- You live in fear of what could go wrong
- You are frustrated because you know you are capable of much more
Our Brain Makes Mistakes
Confidence problems occur when our brain makes a mistake trying to protect us too much.
It uses a good process at the wrong time and in the wrong way.
What else will this cost you if you don't change this?
